Dr. Ayo Harriman
She obtained her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan,Nigeria in June 1984. After completion of her youth corps posting to Ota Ogun state, she commence her Training in Ophthalmology in 1986 and attended courses at the Stanford University, Palo Alto California, USA, the Moorfields Eye Hospital, London UK then proceeded to the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital Dublin, Ireland .
She obtained the Diploma in Ophthalmology degree of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1989 followed by The Membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the United Kingdom in 1990.
She then proceeded on further courses in her field of specialization in Turin, Italy, Leuven, Belgium, Bonn, Germany and that organized by the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary – Boston.
She became a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmologist in 1999 and commenced her sub specialization in Glaucoma the same year.
She joined the Eye Foundation Group first as a lecturer in 2002 and later as a Glaucoma Fellow of the James Standefer Glaucoma Institute in 2003.
She has attended many international and local conferences and is a member of the Ophthalmological society of Nigeria, International Glaucoma Association and the American College of Physician Executives.
She enjoys swimming, reading and is married with two children.
