Tayo J. Bogunjoko
Dr Bogunjoko commenced his ophthalmology career in 2004 as one of the second batch of residents at the Eye Foundation Hospital.
He has since obtained a post graduate diploma in ophthalmology from the West African College of Surgeons and a Master of Science degree in Public Health for Eye care (Community Eye Health) from the University of London. He is an alumnus of the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and International Centre for Eye Health (ICEH) in London. He is presently a fellow involved in the Hilton Cataract Initiative (HCI) coordinated by the John Hopkins University Dana Centre for Preventive Ophthalmology, Baltimore USA and Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, India.
Dr Bogunjoko has acquired vast experience in General Ophthalmic Practice (Community Ophthalmology, Cataract, Glaucoma and Medical retina). He has been involved in the training of Community Ophthalmic Nurses (CONs) and Community Ophthalmic Technicians (COTs) from the inception.
He has also been involved in training of residents and very proficient in cataract surgery (SICS). He was appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist in September 2010 and Assistant Director Eye Health Systems and Training in 2012.
Dr Bogunjoko is a member of the Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria (OSN).
